Stan-dard
Furniture and accessories (1991).
“Towards the end of eighties I found myself starting anew, alone, with the idea of realizing that which was fundamentally contrary to Memphis – instead of single objects of a strongly particular nature, there were families of furniture and accessories for everyday living made with quality and a sense of “brio”. The name of this operation was “Standard” and had as its symbol a small man smiling signifying not so much the idea of mass production but rather the definition of a personal standard and taking care of oneself. It signified for me the desire to surround oneself with objects that were winnig not so much for their style as for their warm and pleasing functionality.” (Aldo Cibic)
