Cartagena Solar Bin Bike

Cibicworkshop has designed a new zero-emission transport system for waste collection in the Cartagena.
The project is part of the urban revitalization plan of the historic center of Cartagena.

Cartagena has a hot climate with a temperature average of 28°C (82.4°F) with high solar radiation. A renewable energy source such as solar photovoltaic panel is extremely efficient in this condition. The city center area is entirely flat, so the use of human drive can be a good solution.

For these reasons we came to the conclusion that a solar electric bike is the best solution.

The Electric drive is located on front-wheels axis. Solar Panes are placed on the hardtop, so they have the best exposure to solar radiations the driver is protected from strong sunlight.

The load is placed on the longitudinal axis so the bike is tight and the loading process is fast.
