Workshop and lectures during the Festival Comodamente. Vittorio Veneto, 2-3-4 September 2011.
“Farming a community” is the name of a workshop and a cycle of lectures which took place during the Festival Comodamente, directed by Claudio Bertorelli.
Cibicworkshop coordinated these meetings which aim was to investigate on new projects able to mix contemporary topics and a sensible approach on the territory development.

Here is a first summary of the workshop:
During the last years we produced a series of research projects which aimed to reason about the world we are living in.
Facing the deep changes of our society, we worked on and proposed new lifestyles, from the first workshops at the Domus Academy in 1995 (Family Business) to the last Venice Biennale in 2010 (Rethinking Happiness).
Throught these experiences it became evident the need to abandon a single discipline approach in advantage of a multidisciplinary one.
“Farming a community” was an other opportunity to argue about a new and positive attitude towards contemporary critical situations.
The workshop developed in different steps.
We started with the identification of different topics on which Aldo Bonomi, Juan Manuel Palerm Salazar, Aldo Cibic, Franco Zagari and Roberto Masiero all together had different discussions, all starting from the topic of “farming a community”.
The aim of this meeting is the creation of a multidisciplinary collection of speeches and texts,a new manifesto which should be able to propose and relaunch new shared projects.
The real need for changes is forcing us to confront and create connections with the others in order to create relations and provoke reactions.
We think that it is necessary to restart from the beginning, in order to face with the contemporary crisis and to pick out new topics and projects for a practicable future.
Our goal deals with the creation of heterogeneous project modalities able to face with bigger topics complexity.
This means to cross the borderline between different disciplines and design more complex solutions.
Restarting from zero what rest is people and their possible relations.
This becomes the ground for the development of lively communities.
What we could do is to create relations and work on the contexts where these communities can grow.
