II° Workshop di progettazione 26/30 Aprile 2011
26-30 Aprile 2011
“It ‘s over the age of capannone (shed)? No. We have it, now we have to evolve it. Where it will be useful to demolish it, we’ll demolish it, in some cases we will replace it with a relative best suited to the times. In most cases, at least in principle, it will be suitable for active and passive energy principles, and to make it more decent, with progressive transplants of parts or even with lifting assistance.” (F. Zagari).
The recent crisis in manufacturing has made it even clearer that the Northeast has not resolved the delicate coexistence between local communities and places of production. There are cases shed in rural, hilly area, surrounded by suburban housing consolidated warehouse, warehouse that prevents the completion of the social fabric, shed inadequate to meet the challenges in the field of energy saving and rationalization, and so on.
What to do? It should be noted that these warehouses without a master, abandoned in age too young to be accepted by a culture that rejects them, represent a typology of the most flexible when we can remember: the transition to the structural frame has made them practically indifferent to any intended use, then be able to absorb them all. As a result, they may well reflect on the best area, the foothills of the Veneto, where the landscape shots and went to modifying “a shed for bell” (E. Fontanari) and now determines the balance in political scene and planning of the territories.
This phase can then reserve good surprises herald of change and positive results in the very years in which the application should set a scene in the Northeast to the European Capital of Culture 2019. The case studies assigned to working groups will be proposed by each participating administrations.
